Who we are

This website, (“Site”) is operated by the International Football Club Wassenaar (“IFC”, “Club”, “we”, “us”, “our”). The Club is the Data Controller of personal data collected which you provide through the usage of the Site and as a member of the Club.

Protecting your privacy is very important to us.

This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes the types of personal data that we collect and process, the usage of the personal data, and your rights.

By becoming a member, by submitting information and/or continuing to use the Site or the App, you signify your consent to us using your personal data in accordance with this Policy.

Why do we collect personal data?

First and foremost, we collect personal data to provide services to you, such as playing at the Club and taking part in the social activities of the Club. Personal data is required to establish membership, follow legal and statutory requirements, register players with the KNVB and maintain records as required by the KNVB, obtain insurance and similar purposes that contribute to the operations of the Club or surround its activities in which the member wishes to participate.

We inform you about the Club’s agenda, its future and past events.

We facilitate communication among Club members and supporters, allowing teams to share information, comments, photos:

i – We enable you to participate in online discussion groups, chats, and/or news groups on the Site on which you can post information and, where we deem necessary, to respond to any such posts you make. Information you post in these areas may become public information and must always comply with our Terms and Conditions.

ii – Each team normally has a coordinator (typically a parent of one of the team members) that maintains a chat group to make it easier to share information about presence/absence, training sessions, matches, venue locations, results and events. It is not mandatory to participate in a chat group. The chat provider may have its own terms and conditions and privacy policy which applies in case you participate, please ensure you read them carefully.

We alert you to other information, including offers and promotions, relating to us and/or our commercial partners. See below heading ‘Marketing Information’ for more information about this. For example, such information may include newsletters, offers, promotions, occasional surveys and other communications of potential interest from us or our commercial partners.

We sometimes need to perform research so that we can improve the products and services we offer. Your feedback is valued and helps to shape the products and services we offer.

In addition, personal data may be collected in order to monitor performance, security and improve the usage of the Site. We also keep track of what you do with our newsletters when you receive them for trends and statistics and to evaluate the efficiency of our newsletter and information service.

What personal data do we collect?

In order to become a Club member, we will collect your registration details including your name, address, date of birth, telephone number and e-mail address. We need to collect the name, address, telephone number and e-mail of your parents or guardians, unless you are 16 years old or older, in which case the provision of this data is optional. We will also collect name, address, telephone number and e-mail address for emergency contacts that you decide to share with us. We will take reasonable efforts to keep these current and accurate and ask you to do the same. For the purchase and distribution of football kits we will also record the required sizes, and we will maintain records pertaining to ordering, payment and delivery of such articles.

We collect data about how users access the website through log files and the use of cookies, and through third party services. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We may use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. Such information may include standard information from your web browser (such as browser type and language), your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, and the actions you take on the Site (such as the pages viewed and the links clicked), browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, number of clicks. We do not link this data to personally identifiable information.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Social login: we collect your public profile data only from your consent that you grant before initiating Social Login, from the social network used to login at our website. This data includes your first name, last name, email address, link to your social media profile, unique identifier, link to social profile avatar. This data is used to create your user profile at our website. You can revoke this consent at any time by sending us an email.

How do we collect personal data

We collect the data via forms, on paper, via in-person meetings, via phone, via SMS, via chats, via the Site.

How do we use your personal data?

We do not sell nor rent your personal data or otherwise provide personal data without your consent.

We do work with data processors that help us manage the Site and the membership administration, mailing services, payment processing, hosting service providers and similar services. Data processors that we currently use are located within the EU.

The SV Wassenaar processes the registration of players with the KNVB on behalf of the Club.

Some of the organisations to which we may disclose your personal information (including, but not limited to, our commercial partners) may in future be situated outside of the European Economic Area, in which case data can only be transferred if an ‘Adequacy Decision or Privacy Shield’ as defined by GDPR is in place.

We may need to use personal data to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our commercial partners, our members, our customers, or others.

We may need to disclose personal information when required by law, or if we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect the Club’s legitimate interests and rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, subpoena or other legal process. The Club may also disclose information about you if we determine that for national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary.

If the Club should become a section of another Football Club, or its assets are transferred or acquired by a third party, personal data held by us pertaining to the IFC will be one of the transferred assets.


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Our website saves the cookie heateorSsBrowserMsg in your browser to track which visitors have seen the popup notification and which haven’t. This cookie isn’t related to your personal data or your IP address.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Marketing Information

From time-to-time we and/or our commercial partners would like to contact you to tell you more about the offers, services, products and other initiatives available to you. Reference to and advertisements from Club Sponsors may be included in the information communication, on the Site and on the App.

We and/or our commercial partners will only contact you by electronic means if you have consented to this.

You can opt-out from receiving communications from us and our commercial partners at any time by clicking unsubscribe on any of our emails.

How do we store your personal data?

We are committed to protecting the security of your personal data, which is held in data centres in the EU in accordance with current legislative requirements, industry standards and technology. We deploy reasonable efforts to keep all your data safe, though we cannot guarantee a 100% security. We will inform you promptly in case of a breech.

For how long do we retain your personal data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We will keep the personal data you have provided for as long as we have a relationship with you; once that relationship has ended we will retain it in accordance with this Policy only for as long as we reasonably require and it will then be deleted and destroyed. For members we need to keep contractual data for legal and fiscal record keeping as required by law. For visitors or supporters that only have access to the site, there will be a technical delay due to backups that can span several months.

Children and young people

If you are a young person under the age of 16, you will need the consent of your parents or guardians to become a member, to register on the Site, to participate in chat groups of your team, and to use this Site. We will ask for a valid email address of your parents or guardian, so we can obtain their consent.

Your parents or guardians need to provide their consent if you want to share photos and your profile. If you win a prize or a competition, your parents or guardians will be asked for consent before we publish any of your personal details.

We will not actively market to young persons under the age of 16, and we will not use nor pass on personal data of young persons under the age of 16 for commercial purposes.

When your parents / guardians order football kits or any other items or services for you, we will store the information that they have ordered it for you, so that we can process the order and dispatch the delivery correctly.

Note to Parents / Guardians

Parents or legal guardians should supervise minors when online and we recommend parental control tools be put in place. Any minor using the Site and services offered is confirming that they have received the consent of their parent or a guardian to do so.

Your rights

  • You have the right to be informed how we will use your personal data. This is set out in This Notice.
  • You have the right to access your personal data (Subject Access Requests). We will supply any information you ask for as soon as possible but may take up to 1 month once we are satisfied as to your identity. We will need to ask for an administration fee of €15,00 for this. We will require you to provide identification when information is requested, including your Identity Card, Passport or Driving License.
  • You have the right to update and amend your personal data. To change your personal data, it is sufficient to update profile information or to contact us. We request that you to update your personal information promptly if it changes.
  • You have the right to opt-out of being contacted. You can click “Unsubscribe” on any of our newsletters or by contacting the Club by email.
  • You can withdraw your consent, close your account and delete your personal data. You (and any parent/guardian of a minor) have the right to request that we close your account and/or delete your personal information from our database. We will make all reasonable efforts to comply with this request. Please note that there is a delay to the deletion process as outlined in this Policy, and that it may be required to keep residual records as required for administrative purposes, by law or regulations.
  • You may lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Authority (DPA), in which case the complaint will fall under Dutch legislation
  • You have the right not to be subject to automated decision making, including profiling. It is your right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (including profiling) that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you. The Club does not proceed with automated decision making or profiling.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for the security of your access ID and passwords. Make sure you keep them in a safe place and do not share them with others. Always remember to log out after your session ends to ensure that others cannot access your private personal information.

We request that the information you provide is as accurate as possible and that you update it promptly when it changes. Periodically we may send you an email asking you to “Update your Details”. You should take this precaution even if you are not using a public computer, such as at a library or internet café, but even when using your private computer in your home.

Changes to the Policy

This Policy is subject to modification without prior notification and may be updated from time to time. Changes will be published on this site.
